Well we thought we would go in Tuesday morning like the doctor had originally said, but when the nurse called to make arrangements with me, we found out we have to be there Monday night at 6pm. For some reason they want to get me started at 7pm with cervidol until 5am and then start me on the pitocin at 5. The doctor will show up at 7am hoping to deliver a baby shortly there after, they sure think this process is going to be a smooth one. And for my sake I hope they are right!! So when we get home on, not unitl Thursday:(, I will post the first pictures of Riley Jane.

38 Weeks

Well the countdown is on!!!! 8 more days at the most. Went to the doctor this morning and I was 2cm and 80%, its an improvement but not as much as I would of hoped for. So now we wait and see what happens until next Monday when I go in for a checkup, and Tuesday the 21st I am still scheduled to be induced!! So one way or another, she will for sure be here by then!!!

FULL TERM- 37 Weeks

I finally made it, and the end is closing in on us. We went to the doctor today and I was 70% effaced and 1cm dilated, which according to the doctor is very good and we could possibly have a baby in the next week or so!? If all else fails before then, I will be induced Tuesday April 21st around 6:30am. Exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time, but I am just ready to be done, and let the fatness melt away(hopefully!!!).

36 week appt.

I went to my 36 week appt. today, and it was nothing to exciting yet. Doctor said she is definitely lower than 2 weeks ago. I have been having a few contractions but nothing constant yet. They ran the Strep B test today and I will find out next Monday when I go, and they will also check my progress to see if I am dilated or effaced. I will keep you updated next Monday as to what the doctor says:)

We were supposed to have an appointment today, but it got rescheduled. So we now go in on Monday for a 3D ultrasound and another checkup. We have not had any pictures since 18 weeks, when we found out what we were having, so I am definitely excited to see how much she has changed. By then I will be 34 weeks and Im sure it will be pretty apparent as to what she will look like.

I just realized that it's been about 3 weeks since I have taken any pictures, so here it is!! I don't really have the roundness of a pregnant belly yet, I just look more like a fat girl.......doctor said that she is growing good and hopefully by not popping out, I will prevent the stretch marks!! Cross my fingers:)

Hello, 3rd Trimester.....

Well we made it, I am 28 weeks and 2 days as of today.....yipee!! We went to the doctor on Monday and everything is going good, she already weighs 2.5lbs, and he said if I dont go into labor before the 21st thats the earlies he would induce!!! I really hoping more for like the 7th of April, I would be 37 weeks and full-term!!!!

Yes I am really starting to get huge!! Not to the uncomfortable part yet, but I still have awhile to go.

How your baby's growing: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Yep definitely getting fatter, had to switch over to Jeffs big pajama pants!!

Whats going on this week: The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel.

How your baby's growing: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Crazy, its starting to go really fast and its going to sneak up on me before I know it. I feel like everyday my belly is getting bigger and bigger, which in all reality it probably really is. I dont really notice it until I look at pictures. So now that I am starting to get bigger I will update the pictures about every 2-3 weeks for all of you that are interested!!

6 month checkup

We went in for our 6month checkup today, and everything is normal!! Rileys heartbeat is right at 150bpm and my stomach is measuring about normal!! Gained a little extra weight this visit, the doctor just advised me to not keep it up at that pace, but I am blaming it on the holidays and we went 5 weeks this visit since we were in El Paso. Anything to make myself feel better. We had alot of fun in Texas, didnt do to much, but it was nice to go down and see what Jeff is actually working on all the time!! Here are a few picture of El Paso, TX and looking into Juarez, Mexico. Just a bunch of dirt mountains and hills, but it was cool to see for the first time. And the top picture is out of our hotel window, the other 2 are from a look out point!

Whats going on this week: At 11 inches and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

I finally felt Riley move for the first time last Tuesday. The doctor said I should have a long time ago, but I never did, at least that I am aware of. So its more exciting now and I think everyday it gets more intense. My belly is definantly starting to stick out now and clothes are getting a bit snugger. I am so excited for Christmas, Jeffs family is coming over on Wednesday night to celebrate and then we will have our own together when they leave. Friday we will be going to Norfolk to celebrate with my family and then help them butcher all day on Saturday, I think Jeff is a little hesitant about this, but all first timers are. And then on Monday the 29th Jeff and I leave for El Paso!!! I am so excited to go down to warm weather!! He is having a Xmas party for their employees, so it should be exciting. And I never have been to Texas, its supposed to be in the 60's as well!! So the next few weeks will be fun and Im sure go fast!! Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am 1/2 way done with my pregnancy. It actually went pretty fast, felt like I got off to a slow start and the days were creeping by. At least now I can tell that i am pregnant, so it makes it more real!! Went to our checkup appointment on Monday and everything is normal. So we will not have another ultrasound until 30-32 weeks, which is kind of sad! But the doctor said by then, she will have pretty distinct facial features and we will be able to tell what she is going to look like which is exciting!! So no more pictures for 10-12 weeks!!

Well our doctor is an idiot and told us he was almost absolutely positive that we were having a BOY, but when we went today and saw the ultrasound, we are definantly having a GIRL!! We are both excited either way, just had the vision of a boy in our heads. As long as it is healthy, we are both ecstatic!! Here are a few pictures of the babies room that is in progress! And Jeff sticking out his big ol' belly, apparently he is trying to mock me.

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

I am getting so excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas, my favorite time of year. Also, for Black Friday of course. My parents are coming down to stay at Jeffs with us to have Thanksgiving and they will be meeting his family.

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Here are the new ultrasound pictures from our 15 week checkup. The top one the baby is looking straight at us so its kind of weird and skelton looking. The bottom one is the baby is head down and you can see the bridge of the nose along with the jaw line(in a darker white). We go back to the doctor on November 25th for our formal ultrasound and to confirm our findings of a boy!!

Well Jeff and I got a good deal on a crib and stroller. A friend of mind at work had a one day only 20% off coupon so we decided to take advantage of it and purchase the items. It is a little early as some might say, but we figure its easier to spread out the expenses. So here are a few pictures of our finished products!! I go back to the doctor tomorrow morning for my 15 week checkup and we might, justmight be able to see what we are having. Otherwise, our doctor said we will have to come back the following Monday Novemver 10th to see!! So hopefully it all works out for us tomorrow, I will let everyone know!!

Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Here are the ultrasound pictures from 11 weeks. According to the doctor everything is going well and he/she has a healthy heartbeat of 151. It won't be until November 10th when we go back to the doctor that we will find out what we are having, hopefully!!!
